What We Repair
- Crack repair & sealing — clean, fill, and seal cracks to stop water getting under the slab
- Slab leveling — lift and re-support sunken sections of driveway, walkway, or patio
- Spall & surface repair — patch pitted, flaked, or popped-out surface damage from freeze-thaw or de-icing salt
- Resurfacing overlays — a new finished surface bonded over a sound but worn slab
- Joint repair — re-cut and re-seal failing control and expansion joints
- Trip-hazard grinding — remove lips at sidewalk joints and settled sections
Why Concrete Fails in Jackson
Most of the damage we repair traces back to two things: water and movement. Jackson’s clay soil swells and shrinks with moisture, moving whatever sits on top of it, and our freeze-thaw winters expand water inside the concrete’s surface, flaking it off (spalling). Poor original base prep, no control joints, or a slab that was too thin makes it worse. We fix the symptom and, where we can, address the cause so it doesn’t come right back.
Resurfacing: A New Surface Without a Full Pour
If a slab is structurally solid but the surface is worn, stained, or spalled, a bonded resurfacing overlay gives you a fresh, finished top — and it can be broom-finished, colored, or even stamped. It’s a real cost savings over tear-out and replacement when the base slab is sound. It is not a fix for a slab that’s cracked all the way through, heaving, or settling — in that case, replacement is the honest answer.
Repair or Replace? We’ll Be Honest
Some contractors push replacement on every job because it’s the bigger ticket. We look at the actual condition — crack width and pattern, whether sections have moved, base condition, and slab thickness — and tell you whether a repair will genuinely last or whether you’d be throwing money at a slab that needs to go. Sometimes the honest answer is a full replacement; often it isn’t.
How We Price Repair & Resurfacing
Repairs are priced by the scope: crack footage, area to level or resurface, materials, and access. We assess in person and give a written estimate. Here’s how our estimates work.
